The Women's Journals consists of the St. Louis Women's Journal and the St. Charles County Women's Journal. We seek to educate and inform in meaningful ways, not just report stories to
our readers. We challenge our contributors to demonstrate their expertise, understanding, and passion for their businesses by writing insightful, objective, and thought-provoking articles.
By providing our readers with informative articles, their knowledge of local products, services, and resources available to them expands – a huge benefit from a free publication!
Our format helps readers develop an understanding of “who” a contributor is prior to making that first phone call or face-to-face visit. This is crucial to businesses that rely on a “personal touch.” While our readers are able to make educated, informed choices on who to work with, we believe our contributors stand to benefit more; they gain access to a savvy and discerning readership – the women of St. Louis and St. Charles county!
Mission Statement:
The mission of the Women's Journals is to be the objective, informative, and educational resource for the women of the St. Louis and St. Charles county regions. Our focus is on providing high-quality articles that are of interest to women of all ages, backgrounds, and ethnicity.
The Women Behind the Women's Journals
The Women's Journals are an entirely women-owned publication. We are You. We understand your needs, your frustrations, your hopes, your fears. We have our fingers on the pulse of St. Louis and St. Charles County women, because we experience the same things you do every day. We strive to address issues of immediate concern as well as provide topics that could become the subjects of late-night conversations. We work very hard to be relevant and timely, with the occasional dash of whimsy, lest we become too serious about everything.
For Susan Cotta, doing the improbable is simply a way of life. Always the active athletic type, Sue
majored in physical education and then acquired her Master’s in physical therapy, beginning a lifelong love of teaching people how to feel better in the most holistic ways possible. Never one to sit still, Sue has also moonlighted in real estate and owned an environmental consulting firm - striving to make a difference and make the world a safer and healthier place. Always a passionate advocate for women and children, her partnership in the Women’s Journals with her sister, Kristin, was a natural fit since the papers’ focus on education and inspiration. Sue continues her teaching role with each advertiser, helping them make their articles and ads as full of impact and information as possible, helping them make a difference in the lives of Women’s Journal readers.
With her quick smile and hearty laugh, Kristin Pendleton practically lights up every room she
enters. This enthusiastic woman, who’s never met a stranger, took on the challenge of starting the Women’s Journals in a market already saturated with independent newspapers and magazines. Through perseverance, tenacity and her genuine passion about women’s issues, she trumped the skeptics and has built a thriving, successful business of not one, but two papers. While officially the co-owner and publisher of both papers, Kristin wears many hats with one of her favorites being “Mom”, having had her son, Jack in early 2007. Yet despite having a demanding (but adorable) child to take care of, Kristin’s energy and drive is never flagging. Her passion for the Women’s Journals and its mission of educating, informing and inspiring the women of St. Louis and St. Charles County never dims.
